چکیده

Flow of cerebrospinal fluid in perivascular spaces is a key mechanism underlying brain transport and clearance. In this paper, we present mathematical numerical formalism for reduced models pulsatile viscous flow networks generalized annular cylinders. We apply framework to study induced by pressure differences, cardiac pulse wave-induced vascular wall motion vasomotion. The provide approximations the cross-section average flux, both defined over topologically one-dimensional centerlines network geometry. Comparing full model predictions, find that capture characteristics accurate flux predictions across range idealized image-based scenarios investigated—at fraction computational cost corresponding models. presented thus provides robust effective approach large scale in-silico studies transport.

PULSATILE MOTION OF BLOOD IN A CIRCULAR TUBE OF VARYING CROSS-SECTION WITH SLIP FLOW

Pulsatile motion of blood in a circular tube of varying cross-section has been developed by considering slip flow at the tube wall and the blood to be a non- Newtonian biviscous incompressible fluid. The tube wall is supposed to be permeable and the fluid exchange across the wall is accounted for by prescribing the normal velocity of the fluid at the tube wall. The tangential velocity of the fl...

Pulsatile Blood Flow

In addition to many overly restrictive simplifications of this type, the text offers some extraordinary and equally arresting therapeutic suggestions. In 1964, it is intriguing to discover that relief in pericarditis "is often obtained from the application of four or five leeches over the praecordium," that extract of ox gall may help the symptoms of acute hepatitis, and that "Kaolin poultices ...

Modelling of the pulsatile blood flow in an arterial tree of retinal vasculature

The paper presents a numerical investigation of pulsatile blood flow in arterial vasculatures of a mouse retina using a Womersley model incorporating an appropriate outlet boundary impedance at the end of the terminal vessels of the arterial tree (pre-capillary arterioles). The mouse retinal flatmount was prepared for confocal microscopy and the morphometric information of the vasculature was o...

Geometrically batched networks

We develop approximate solutions for the equilibrium queue length probability distribution of queues in open Markovian networks by considering each queue independently, constructing its arrival process as the join of each contributing queue's departing traffic. Without modulation and non-unit batches, we would only need to consider mean internal traffic rates, modelling each queue as M/M/1 to g...

Pulsatile Ocular Blood Flow in Healthy Koreans

PURPOSE To determine the normal reference range of pulsatile ocular blood flow (POBF) values in healthy Korean subjects and to find out the factors that may affect them. METHODS A total of 280 eyes of 280 normal subjects were included in this study. Best corrected visual acuity (BCVA), intraocular pressure (IOP), axial length, POBF, systemic blood pressure, and pulse rate were measured. The m...
